![]() ![]() ![]() It’s worth noting that this forced inclusive language is only found in the Latam Spanish version, the European Spanish version was translated correctly. In Spanish, centaurs have male and female versions, “los centauros” for male and “las centáurides” for female, "centaure" is a fabricated word in this forced inclusivity attempt, same with "huerfane", which is orphan in Spanish, the correct use is “huérfano” for male and “huérfana” for female. The whole Dragonflight expansion is filled with incorrect uses of the language, hundreds of them have been found by the players, other examples include the quest Taivans-Purpose in which the wording “le centaure huerfane” is used. So what players in Latam have seen in Dragonflight is an enormous amount of words that have been changed from their male and female versions to fabricated words with neutral gender, for example, the campaign character Selistra, which in English is called “Majordomo Selistra” has been translated to “Le Mayordome Selistre” which is incorrect, the correct translation would be “El Mayordomo Selistra”, please note that “Le” and “Mayordome” are fabricated words, nonexistent in any previous text in the Spanish language, and of course, not approved by the RAE “Real Academia Española” which is an institution dedicated to regularize the correct use of Spanish. There is a big controversy happening right now in Latam playerbase due to the excessive use of forced inclusive language in the Spanish (Latam version) of Dragonflight, the translation has a lot of what you could call “grammatical errors” or plain simple fabricated words for the sake of diversity.įor context, in Spanish there are 3 genders for words, male, female and neutral, some words have male and female versions, for example male writer in Spanish is “el escritor” and female writer is “la escritora”, teacher is “el professor” and “la profesora”, etc., an example of a neutral gender word is i.e., singer “cantante” finalized with the letter “e” and it applies for male and female singers, so it could be “el cantante” or “la cantante” the gender in this case is given by the prefix “el” or “la”, if the noun is neutral, the gender is given by the prefix. ![]()
